I love reading marketing blogs and anything about how to keep my toddler from throwing tantrums. When I find a good post, I like to share, but instead of linking to it in hopes you think I am so smart for finding it – I thought I would help you out with a quick review of the best points.  Check it out.
Name of blog post: “How to be so inspirational that your readers get addicted to your words”, written by Henneke Duistermaat, copywriter and marketer.

Here is what I found - 4 concisely laid out adaptable tips with examples – I love examples – on how to jazz up your writing to keep your readers interested and inspired, so they are not tempted to check their Facebook page for the 5th time in 10 minutes.

What’s the point of this post: You don’t have to be the Dali Lama or Oprah to inspire change, YOU – YES YOU can inspire others to make a change in their daily habits or provide advice to help move their business or life forward.

Want to know more…here is what I learned from this post:
  1. Be present in your writing as if you are talking to the reader face-to-face. Write for one person.
  2. Write with power and warmth. I know, you might be wondering, how can I sound powerful like Putin with the warm glow of Martha Stewart thrown in? Simple – remove I should, I think mumbo jumbo talk from your writing. Say what you mean and keep it emphatic to your reader’s situation or problem.
  3. Slow it down like the song says. Do not overwhelm readers with 57 ways or 22 tips on doing something. Give them a few or just one to tackle. Henneke, the author, suggests “write about tiny topics”, which is probably much more manageable to write and to keep your reader’s attention.
  4. Tiny ripples make a big splash. Lastly she advises “if you want to inspire your audience and spark change, start small”. It will keep them coming back.

Now go and inspire others.  Read the full version of this post here.
